Lose Lose Lose

Friday, August 13th, 2010

A month or two ago, we recorded two new songs for a 3-way split with FIGHT AMP and LADDER DEVILS. The split is called Lose Lose Lose, and it’s coming out next month on Brutal Panda. 12″ vinyl, beautiful package, 300 copies. Rad!

Here’s the track list. Rather that just putting each band’s songs together, we tried to sequence the songs in an order that works like an album.

1. The Busker (Kowloon Walled City)
2. Get OK (Ladder Devils)
3. Thankless (Fight Amp)
4. Leavers (Ladder Devils)
5. Old Soul (Fight Amp)
6. The Commuter (Kowloon Walled City)

[Sep 8 2010] Buy it from Brutal Panda, and/or download it for free.

Snailface II

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

What really happens at KWC practice:

  • “Best of Michael Schenker” download party
  • Watch Youtube videos of dudes filming themselves in their garages playing Billy Squier “Lonely is the Night”
  • Evans keeps talking about “Moody Blues harmonies” and “men singing together”
  • King Crimson: are the remasters any better?
  • Repeated Captain Beyond listening
  • Those six amazing old Charlie Daniels songs

Which leads us to SNAILFACE TWO. Thrown together in a week or two, these ten songs explore some dozen yeti myths. Mind-blowing mix work by Grammy Greg Thompson. Narration by Victor Miller. Mellotron by a free plugin.

Just like last time, this is not to be mistaken for a KWC record.

Go. Trudge across the great glaciers.

2009

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Good year.

We played some great shows. Here’s Annandale in a basement in Oakland. Here’s Sleep Debt at the DNA, opening for Kylesa. Here’s our friends Madraso, killing it at our record release show. Here’s an idiotic but accurate video documenting the one bit of touring we got to do this year.

We recorded and released a record. HAVE YOU BOUGHT A COPY.

The record got some good reviews. 9/10 at Lambgoat, 8/10 at Decibel, etc.

The record also made some “Top XX of 2009″ lists. Here’s one, here’s another.

Snailface.

Good year.

We’ll try and do the thing again this year.

YES! Our new record, Gambling on the Richter Scale, is available today.

You can buy it at the Perpetual Motion Machine Store. The LP with included CD is only $11.

You can also download the entire record for free.

We owe big thank yous to Paul from PMM for putting out this record, to Greg Thompson for mastering, and to Bradee Evans for graphic design. Thanks, guys. Next time we’ll totally pay you. Not you, Paul.

Silkscreening CD sleeves

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Spent a bunch of time this weekend silkscreening 500 CD sleeves, to be inserted in the vinyl package. We did the first color with the regular silkscreen rig, added type with a Gocco printer, then glued everything together. The results are pretty great.
