Jason’s been in the band since day one and his playing and writing are an important part of everything we’ve done, but he’s ready to do other things with his Sundays and Tuesdays. There’s no drama, we’re all still buddies. (though don’t expect us to pay you the $70 we owe you, man)

On the good news front, Jon Howell from Tigon is joining up on guitar. Like Pace, Jon is tall, midwestern (more or less), carless, and finds Magma listenable. We are really stoked to have him aboard. First show with Jon will be sometime in September, and we’ll drag him into the hope-extinguishing process of writing new songs ASAP. Expect a new record sometime no later than 2015.

So if you’ve been meaning to buy a record or a shirt, now is a good time.

That is, we just deleted our myspace account. If you want to find us on the social internets, there’s facebook. Facebook is actually pretty crappy for bands, but it’s not actively infuriating, at least.

I know that in the social networking vertical, you need to monetize your leveraged investment, and branding strategies, and eyeball clicks per minutes visited per month, and targeted advertising and all, but no.

The first vinyl pressings of “Turk” and “Gambling” both sold out, but we have repressings. The Turk repress was released by Howling Mine (US — this is Bryan from Thou’s new label) and Feast of Tentacles (UK). 500 copies pressed, matte jacket that looks great, black/red swirl vinyl.

To go with the Turk repress we did a run of Turk Street shirts, with a pic of the street corner. No band name, just the image. 2 color screen on red shirts.

The Gambling repress was released by The Perpetual Motion Machine (US) and Feast of Tentacles (UK). 500 copies pressed, matte jacket, vinyl in classic black and solid silver. These look sweet. Unlike the first pressing — vinyl only, no CD.

We sold out of most of our shirts on tour, but there are a few left. We just reordered the “Thrust Planes” and “Seismic Clock” shirts, but the other designs, there’s a few left and that’s it for now.

To memorialize this semi-historic moment, Snailface will gather around a fog machine to play their first and hopefully only live show: Saturday November 20 at San Francisco’s Hemlock Tavern.

We are super grateful to BATILLUS — for lending us their gear, for being great guys to spend two weeks with, and for absolutely destroying every night. Thanks men. Also, sincere thanks to everybody who helped us book a show or let us crash at their house. I said “thank you” a million times and it felt great every time.

We had an incredible number of friends come out to shows. Old friends, new friends, previously-internet-only friends. A lot of people drove travelled really far to see us play for 25 minutes, and then bought records and shirts too. That is goddamn amazing.
